The Henri Bendel Sales Associate will take a proactive approach to capitalize and focus on incoming daily traffic within the store to maximize volume opportunities. As such, this role is responsible for ensuring a genuine, engaging, entertaining and fun Bendel's customer experience.

Role Responsibilities:

Drives Financial Performance:
• Meets or exceeds sales goals per hour and overall sales volume goals
• Meets or exceeds Average Dollar Sales (ADS) Goals
• Meets or exceeds units per Transactions (UPT) Goals
• Introduces customers to the Henri Bendel branded merchandise, and drives sales in this key brand category
• Sells all Henri Bendel branded merchandise categories with passion
• Takes on “new and next items” sales goals with flexibility and passion
• Collaborates with colleagues in order to introduce customers to other categories and build sales volume

Delivers Exceptional Customer Service:
• Engages customers in a genuine manner that will differentiate the Bendel’s experience as one that is fun, unique and entertaining
• Act as specialist in most merchandise categories, but have general knowledge of all categories in order to cross sell
• Demonstrates basic product knowledge and a general awareness of fashion trends
• Remains continually aware of events and new items, and is able to communicate that knowledge to customers
• Understands how to link sales (e.g. suggests a small leather good item to complement a handbag being purchased)
• Handles returns and exchanges in a positive manner and makes every effort to convert the transaction to a sale
• Effectively uses CPS to capture customer and selling information

Maintains the Selling and Stock Areas:
• Regularly cleans floor and returns non-purchased merchandise to selling floor
• Keeps cash wrap area neat and orderly
• Straightens up merchandise in selling area including folding clothes, returning fallen items to the hangers, and picking up unsold merchandise and returning it to selling floor
• Regularly replenishes selling area
• Conducts maintenance for clean- up as necessary (e.g. mud or snow tracked onto the floor), and monitors neatness of selling floor to minimize safety risks
• Ensures ladders and display items are in their proper positions, and notifies Store Manager if there are any safety risks
• Partners with Visual Merchandiser to ensure new visual displays are maintained correctly

Fully Supports All Operating Behaviors:
• Approaches assignments in a positive and productive manner
• Shows flexibility in work schedule to meet the business needs
• Embraces change and supports new business direction
• Dresses according to style guidelines and expectations of the Henri Bendel brand
• Follows all register closing and opening procedures regularly and correctly (e.g. ensures register is ready for transactions as soon as the store opens)
• Adheres to daily schedule- arrives on time, takes scheduled breaks and/or lunches and closes out on time
• Rings up own sales under own number, and rings up others’ sales under their numbers
• Keen awareness of and ability to follow loss prevention and general policies and procedures at all times
• Attends product knowledge training sessions

• Retail sales experience required, prestige brand experience preferred specifically with accessories.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of and passion for hottest fashion trends
• Ability to understand what defines a brand
