继七月大规模装置创造性艺术之后,比弗利中心将再添新的内外部艺术设计,这也是中心持续进行的焕新装修项目中的重要部分。


洛杉矶, 2016年9月9日 – 做为比弗利中心将会持续进行的创造性艺术项目,新的外部艺术图和内部雕塑型座椅将会在本月装置完毕。 [其中,Kimmel作品将于九月底装置完毕; Hoeber作品将于十月中旬装置完毕] 这些有趣的艺术设计作品也是比弗利中心焕新装修项目中重要的一部分。 焕新艺术项目系列是由Jenelle Porter(詹妮尔•波特)领衔,哈默博物馆联合支持。

LOS ANGELES, July 18, 2016 – Beverly Center will incorporate temporary art installations exclusively from well-known Los Angeles artists during the center’s ongoing reimagination. Curated by Jenelle Porter, in association with the Hammer Museum, the artworks reflect the progressive, multi-cultural fabric of Los Angeles and the city’s vibrant creative community.

 

 

“Beverly Center’s renovation will afford Los Angeles artists an absolutely unique opportunity to make large-scale, temporary and experimental artworks,” said Porter. “The invited artists’ contributions respond to the richness of Los Angeles, giving the neighboring communities and tourists a starting point from which to explore our city’s thriving cultural scene.”

 

 

Debuting in July 2016 are the following works:

 

  • Geoff McFetridge: Small Gap Between Here and Nowhere

A graphic designer and artist who has created works for international brands, Hollywood films and local shops, McFetridge’sSmall Gap Between Here and Nowhere is commissioned expressly for Beverly Center and features Los Angeles’ mythical and mystical native coyote. McFetridge’s red pack is composed of large and small animals, magically shape-shifting to populate the indoor environment.
 

  • Dave Muller: California Daydreaming, w/Perks                                                                                               

Known for his acrylic-on-paper paintings and multimedia installations, Muller’s new work for Beverly Center includes a monumental depiction of local flora and fauna mixed with details of the Watts Towers, the Hollywood sign and other iconic landmarks, all backdropped by the celebrated blue skies of the Southland.

  • Catherine Opie: Untitled (Beach Day #2)                                                                                                       

Known for her evocative photographs of contemporary America, Opie’s exterior work brings the beach to the center. At street level, along the pedestrian walkway, Opie premieres new photographs of hands on surfboards, all of which were recently shot at local beaches.  
 

  • Karen Kimmel: Stay                                                                                                                                       

An artist and designer, Karen Kimmel will create a temporary sculptural installation, exclusive to Beverly Center, that incorporates usable seating for customers in the form of benches, platforms and stools, derived from her artistic vocabulary of abstracted, biomorphic forms. It will serve both form and function, cleverly allowing shoppers to rest and relax.

 

“We are creating an urban retail experience at Beverly Center by opening up the first level and connecting it directly into the fabric of the city, adding extensive skylighting throughout the center which brings the outdoors inside, and engaging our visitors in a completely reimagined contemporary environment” said William Taubman, COO of Taubman Centers, Inc. “We are incredibly fortunate to have the counsel of our curator Jenelle Porter, as well as advice from the Hammer Museum, to help us present local artists that reinforce the creativity of Beverly Center’s community.” 

 

Beverly Center is currently undergoing a $500 million renovation that will transform every aspect of the iconic fashion destination. The project includes creating a bright, contemporary and highly accessible exterior and interior that engages the center with the surrounding neighborhood, producing an effortless arrival, parking and departure experience, and offering a perfectly curated retail lineup and superior destination dining. Taubman Unveils Plans for a $500 Million Re-Imagination of the Iconic Beverly Center
Every aspect of the center to be transformed by holiday 2018

 

LOS ANGELES, March 7, 2016 – Taubman Centers, Inc. (NYSE: TCO) is embarking on a $500 million re-imagination of Beverly Center this month that will transform every aspect of the iconic fashion destination. The details were revealed this evening at an event featuring Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Taubman Chairman, CEO and President Robert Taubman, Chief Operating Officer William Taubman and other special guests.

 

Critical focus areas for the project include creating a bright, contemporary and highly accessible exterior and interior that engages the center with the surrounding neighborhood, producing an effortless arrival, parking and departure experience, and offering a perfectly curated retail lineup and superior destination dining. Beverly Center and its tenants will be open during construction which is scheduled to be completed by the 2018 holiday season.

 

“In re-envisioning Beverly Center, we are looking to create LA’s signature urban shopping and dining experience, as well as an exciting, pedestrian-friendly anchor to one of the most creative and diverse neighborhoods in the world,” said Robert Taubman. “The center is a key asset in our portfolio, and after renovation we believe it will become one of the top ten retail centers in the nation.”

Modern, Fresh Design

 

The design architect for the renovation of the 886,000 sq. ft. center is Studio Fuksas of Rome, Italy. Visionaries Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas, known for their distinctive designs, are responsible for numerous high-profile projects around the world, including Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (Guangdong, China), Ferrari Operational Headquarters and Research Center (Maranello, Italy), CBD Cultural Center (Beijing, China), New National Archives of France (Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, France) and many other exceptional venues.

 

Taubman selected Studio Fuksas to transform Beverly Center into a great urban space that meets the aspirations of Angelenos and suits the world class city it calls home. Massimiliano Fuksas had this to say about architecture: “Contrary to common belief, music should be observed in order to appreciate its true essence, while architecture should be felt.”

 

Upon completion, Beverly Center’s shoppers and diners will feel its new personality through significant changes that include:

  • Adding a continuous ribbon of new skylights that will bathe the entire center’s elegant and contoured floor openings and curves in natural light. 
  • A shimmering new exterior that incorporates a perforated steel façade and will beautifully capture light during all parts of the day. 
  • A fresh new streetscape that combines modern architecture and drought-resistant greenery for a pleasant walking experience.
  • A row of street-level restaurants that open the center to the vibrancy of West Third Street and embrace a pedestrian-oriented environment.
  • An additional valet off West Third Street to provide quick access to the street-level restaurants and retail.
  • A state-of-the-art smart parking system to dramatically improve the center’s arrival and departure experience. 
  • An eighth level multi-concept gourmet food hall - THE STREET - by Chef Michael Mina.
  • Spectacular panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills and downtown Los Angeles from THE STREET, as well as from the center’s sixth floor.

Superior Retail & Dining

 

Beverly Center for decades has been an iconic fashion destination regularly shopped by locals, international visitors and those who influence celebrity style and popular culture through their work in the entertainment industry. With this renovation, Beverly Center will remain well positioned to lead the city to its fashion future while connecting with these important core customers.

 

The center will continue to be anchored by Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s, and will have more than 100 of the world’s most coveted brands, including Apple, Burberry, COS, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Foot Locker, Gucci, H&M, Henri Bendel, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Maje, Montblanc, OMEGA, Prada, Saint Laurent, Salvatore Ferragamo, Sandro, Tiffany & Co., Traffic, Uniqlo, Versace, XXI Forever and Z Zegna. In addition to great retail, an estimated ten dining destinations will be developed, including two by Michelin starred, James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Mina. His first is a multi-concept gourmet food hall called THE STREET. Located on the center’s eighth floor dining terrace, THE STREET will serve an impressive array of cuisines from hawker stations reminiscent of great bazaars from around the world. The hallmark of the experience will be offerings from both
Chef Mina and approximately 15-18 visiting chefs for an ever-changing culinary experience.

 

“THE STREET will feature incredibly diverse cuisine inspired by the local community and the idea of bringing people together through the universal language of great food,” said Chef Mina. “The fare will be healthy, the atmosphere casual and the overall experience will be like no other in LA.”

 

Part of the uniqueness of THE STREET will be its sweeping views of downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills that will provide a distinctly LA experience.

 

The center’s other new chef-driven and fast-casual restaurants, as well as Mina’s second concept, will be announced in the coming months.

比弗利中心本次覆盖88.6 万平方英尺的翻新计划将由来自意大利罗马的福克萨斯建筑设计工作室

地的知名工程挥笔,其中包括:深圳宝安国际机场(中国广东省)、法拉利营运总部和研究中心

Beverly Center Partners with Cyndi Lauper's True Colors Fund with $15,000 Donation to Aid LGBT Homeless Youth in L.A.

Los Angeles, CA – With the holiday season just around the corner, Beverly Center has donated $10,000 in gift cards for LGBT youth overcoming homelessness around Los Angeles in a partnership with True Colors Fund. LGBT youth will have the opportunity to shop at Beverly Center storefronts to purchase new clothes and goods necessary on their pathway toward success.

 


Co-founded by Cyndi Lauper, The True Colors Fund works to end homelessness among LGBT youth, creating a world in which young people can be their true selves. The True Colors Fund is focused on raising public awareness, advocating within government, conducting research, working collaboratively with young people, and organizing communities to develop solutions to prevent and end LGBT youth homelessness.

 


"The True Colors Fund is excited to partner with Beverly Center," said Cyndi Lauper, co-founder of the True Colors Fund. "Ensuring that LGBT youth experiencing homelessness have the resources to reach for their dreams is essential. We need to do all we can do to remove barriers, especially around employment and education, to their success."

 


Across the United States, up to 40 percent of the 1.6 million youth that are homeless each year identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender, yet, only up to seven percent of the general youth population identifies the same.
In addition to gift cards, Beverly Center has made a $5,000 end-of-the-year contribution to True Colors Fund enabling the organization to continue its imperative research and programs including youth leadership development via the True Fellow program, working with the White House to advocate for non-discrimination protections, and building and launching its True Connect mobile application for LGBT homeless youth to locate medical and housing services.

In 2015, the True Colors Fund partnered with the White House to conduct a Policy Briefing on Youth Homelessness to help prioritize the needs of youth experiencing homelessness within the Federal Government. This year, True Colors Fund also launched #40toNoneDay, a national day to raise awareness about LGBT youth homelessness, which reached over 17 million people online.
